There are 2 models of XScreen wired portable monitors:  with built-in version and without built-in battery version.

Touch screen function:

XScreen (Wired): with touch screen function

XScreen Air (Wireless): No touch screen function

The touch screen function of XScreen is only available to the WIRED version. The wireless version cannot activate the touch screen function.

 

Wired/Wireless connection:

XScreen (Wired): Only can be connected with cables

XScreen Air (Wireless): Wireless connection (with dongle) and wired connection

The wired XScreen can only connect with the device via cables (either mini HDMI / Type C).

After connecting the dongle with the shortest cable (provided in the package) to XScreen, XScreen supports wireless connection.

The wireless XScreen Air can connect with the device wirelessly through Wi-Fi after connecting with the dongle.  In Apple, you can use AirPlay, while in Android, you can use screen mirroring features for connectivity.  For PC, you can use the built-in "connect with wireless device" feature. 

Also, there are ports for you to connect with your device with a wire.  Therefore you are opened with multiple connectivity options:  either via cables or via Wifi. However, the touch screen function is still not available when it is connected by wire.

Hibernation mode:

XScreen (Wired): Hibernate automatically

XScreen Air (Wireless): Long press the "Menu" button

If you want to let XScreen hibernate, there are two different methods for wired XScreen and wireless XScreen Air. 

 

For XScreen (wired), when there is no signal connected with XScreen, it will hibernate automatically.

 

For XScreen Air (wireless), it would not hibernate automatically even if there is no signal. Hence, if you want to let XScreen hibernate, you need to long-press the "Menu" button to switch it off.

Compatible Device:

Android device:

XScreen (Wired): Compatible device with USB-C video output, you can check the list here to see whether your device support video output

XScreen Air (Wireless): All (even the device does not support video output)

 

Apple device:

XScreen (Wired): Macbook with USB-C video output

                            Other Apple products are only compatible with using the adapter to converting the HDMI plug and port 

XScreen Air (Wireless): All (without using the adapter)

 

Gaming device:

XScreen (Wired): Compatible device with USB-C video output, you can check the list here to see whether your device support video output

XScreen Air (Wireless): Cannot connect with the gaming device like Switch, PS4 wirelessly.  However, you can connect with the gaming device after via HDMI connection.

 

You can use the wireless XScreen Air portable monitor with the Android devices which do not support video output. Android users can use the smartphone function of “Smart view / Screen mirroring” under Wifi.

 

For Apple devices, you do not need to use the adapter to connect your device with XScreen Air portable monitor. Apple devices can connect to XScreen Air portable monitor by “Airplay” or “Screen Mirroring” under Wifi. By using Airplay on your Apple device, you can enjoy your second monitor smoothly. If you don’t want to carry any other cable, and touch screen function is not a must for you, it is strongly recommended to use the wireless XScreen. It will be more convenient.
 

The wired XScreen can provide a more efficient response time. It will be useful under any condition especially when gaming.  After connecting your device with XScreen portable display by HDMI or Type-C cable, you can enjoy your working and gaming time. Your efficiency (in every aspect) can be enhanced by the XScreen portable screen.

 

You cannot connect XScreen Air with the gaming devices wirelessly. But you can use the HDMI cable to connect the XScreen Air and the gaming device. Therefore, wireless XScreen Air can also be used to connect with gaming devices.

The wireless version will be convenient when you are traveling to another region or you don’t want to carry huge amounts of cables.

 

After charging, you can carry any version of XScreen portable monitor and your necessary device to travel everywhere. It will be more portable and handy.
